How to use inkjet transfer paper
Inkjet transfer paper is easy to use; all our transfer paper comes with easy to follow instructions.
Creating your customised clothing items (t-shirts, hats, bags, etc) or materials like canvas shopping bags is very straight forward. You’ll need the following:-
- Transfer paper – either light or dark (depends what colour material you will be fixing your transfer to)
- Colour Inkjet printer & PC capable of printing out your design
- Scissors to cut out your transfer
- Household iron (don’t use steam setting)
- Flat hard surface – ironing boards are not recommended
Use your printer’s highest resolution to ensure your photograph or logo is printed at the best quality for outstanding results. You can use your favourite graphics software to enhance or create great custom designs or simply use standard Office or graphics software to print out high quality photographs.
Photo Paper NOW’s transfer paper for light material must be printed in reversed or mirror mode as the paper is reversed before fixing. Our dark material transfer paper must be printed in normal mode (not reversed or mirror) as the paper is applied without reversing.
Our paper has an ink absorbing coating which will absorb the ink from the printer and will remain on the coating. Once the transfer paper has dried after 3 or 4 minutes it is ready to apply to the garment using a standard household iron (steam setting OFF) or a heat press.
Do not use an ironing board as this does not provide the full support needed, we would recommend a solid table or worktop with a couple of pillow cases under the t-shirt.
Full instructions are supplied with all our products. Adult supervision is recommended.
